We love this easy-to-make room spray and air freshener recipe. It really is very simple to make and depending on what look your want at the end will depend on what emulsifier you use to blend the fragrance. You can blend any of our fragrances to make these room sprays or you can use Essential Oils.

Ingredients

  • 100ml spray bottle with a fine mist setting
  • 20-30 (10-15ml) drops of your favourite fragrance oil or essential oil
  • 90ml of distilled water
  • 10-15 ml Solubilizer such as Polysorbate 80 or Isopropyl Alcohol.

Method

Mix your fragrance and your solubilizer together first and make sure they are well combined. This is very important step or you will get lumps in your fragrance with the solubilizer.

Then add the measured water and mix. [Note: Some fragrances may make your liquid take on a milky appearance, this happens less with Essential Oils]

Fill your spray bottle, making sure you leave some space in the bottle so you have room to shake the liquid before use.

To Use

Shake the bottle immediately before each use. Spray lightly in the room.

Shelf Life

Although most fragrance oils are anti-microbial, they are not potent enough to preserve a water-based room spray. This room spray is intended to be used up within 2-4 weeks.

And that’s it! Get the smell you want in your bathroom without all the nasties.
Give it a try, we would love to hear comments!
